SleepyCat Refund Policy

This Refund Policy explains when and how you can obtain a refund for purchases of SleepyCat services or subscriptions. It applies only to payments you make directly to us through our website (processed by Paddle) or indirectly through Apple’s App Store or Google Play. It forms part of, and should be read together with, our Terms & Conditions.

1. Definitions

“In-App Purchase”Any payment completed inside the SleepyCat iOS or Android mobile apps using Apple’s or Google’s in-app billing systems.
“Cooling-off period”The 14-day statutory right of withdrawal for EU/EEA consumers under Directive 2011/83/EU (as transposed in local laws).

2. Refunds for Web Purchases (Paddle)

7-Day Money-Back Guarantee

We voluntarily offer a full refund on Web Purchases requested within 7 days of the order date, in line with Paddle’s recommended best practice.

EU/EEA Cooling-Off Period

If you are an EU/EEA consumer, you may cancel a Web Purchase within 14 days of the transaction without giving any reason.

Because SleepyCat delivers digital content for immediate download/streaming, you acknowledge that the statutory right of withdrawal is lost once you access the content (Article 16 (m), Consumer Rights Directive).

Our 7-day guarantee in § 2.1 still applies even after access, unless an abuse pattern is detected.

Eligibility & Exclusions

  • Each order can be refunded only once.
  • Refunds are not available for accounts suspended for breach of our Terms or for chargebacks already filed with your payment provider.
  • Bulk or enterprise licences follow the refund terms in the applicable master agreement.

How to Request a Web Refund

Send an email to support@sleepycat.app from the address used for the purchase and include:

  • Invoice number
  • The reason you are dissatisfied (helps us improve).

We normally reply within 48 hours and, if approved, instruct Paddle to refund to your original payment method. Funds usually appear within 3-5 business days, subject to your bank’s processing times.

Chargebacks

Please contact us before filing a chargeback. Chargebacks generate fees we would rather spend improving SleepyCat for everyone.

3. Refunds for In-App Purchases

3.1 Apple App Store (iOS, iPadOS, visionOS, macOS)

Apple controls billing for In-App Purchases, so Apple alone can issue the refund. To request one:

  1. Visit reportaproblem.apple.com and sign in.
  2. Select “I’d like to … Request a refund” and choose the reason.
  3. Submit the request and wait 24–48 hours for Apple’s decision.

If your request is denied, contact support@sleepycat.app and we will advocate on your behalf where possible, but the final decision rests with Apple.

3.2 Google Play Store (Android, ChromeOS)

Google may grant automatic refunds within 48 hours of purchase. After that window you can:

  1. Open play.google.com ▸ Profile ▸ Payments & Subscriptions ▸ Budget & order history.
  2. Click Report a problem next to the order and fill in the form.

If Google declines, email support@sleepycat.app with the GPA order number; we can refund you directly if the transaction is less than 30 days old and Google permits developer-initiated refunds.

All time frames are approximate and depend on your bank’s settlement cycle.

5. Abuse & Fair Use

We reserve the right to refuse refunds to users who (i) repeatedly purchase and request refunds, (ii) violate our Terms & Conditions, or (iii) engage in fraudulent activity. This does not affect your statutory rights.

6. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Refund Policy from time to time. Material changes will be announced on our website and emailed to active subscribers at least 7 days before they take effect.
